Superior General Fr. Edward M. Dougherty opens the Centennial Year with a special Mass. A beautiful and majestic precession of International flags representing the countries where Maryknoll has served. Original composition by Fr. Jan Michael Joncas, liturgical theologian and composer of contemporary Catholic music that includes On Eagle's Wings. The composition is titled Missa ad Gentes, or Mass to the Peoples, and incorporates musical elements that represent both Maryknoll's United States heritage and the diverse cultures in which Maryknoll missioners serve.
