Youth and the Maryknoll Affiliates
This issue of Not So Far Afield focuses almost entirely on youth, how they are active with the Maryknoll Affiliates and how we can be getting them involved in mission. We hope you find the stories both inspirational and motivating and that they give you and your Chapter new ideas for working with youth. There are many organizations working with youth. We can find many valuable ideas from and partner with them as we work with young adults. Pax Christi, in particular, provides a wonderful resource through their Campus and Young Adult Organizing programs.

I've just finished reading several articles (including the HI one, of course) and wanted to tell you before I even read all the others that it is a WONDERFUL issue. Somehow hearing of youth involvement fills one with a spirit of hope!
Yesterday I started reading the July/August NSFA and could not put it down. Starting with it's theme and reading through each article, it led me through special feelings and many thoughts. During my time on the Board, I recall all the times we talked about getting younger persons involved with the Affiliates, so it is good to read of so much that has been done and think about so much that can be done. I remember the decision to accept the RBC as a Chapter and look what Mary has done! Every article was something special.
