A day on the Hill: Bringing Maryknoll experience to U.S. policymakers
May 16-17, 2012

As part of the on-going celebration of Maryknoll’s centenary, the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns invites you to join Maryknoll leadership, missioners, Affiliates and friends of Maryknoll for a two-day advocacy gathering in Washington, D.C. We will bring Maryknoll’s unique perspective and depth of experience to our nation’s lawmakers and policy experts.

Wednesday evening, May 16
6 pm: Opening Mass
7 pm: Dinner, followed by a presentation from Robert Ellsberg, Orbis Books editor-in-chief
Location: Holy Redeemer Church, 206 New York Avenue, NW

Thursday, May 17
8:30 am: Sr. Simone Campbell, director of NETWORK, a national Catholic social justice lobby, will give a briefing on meeting with Congress.
Location: Holy Redeemer Church

During the day, individuals and small groups will visit Congressional offices, the State Department and the White House.

5:30 pm: Reception with colleagues, members of Congress, administration representatives, and other dignitaries.
Location: The Stewart Mott House, 122 Maryland Avenue, NE, across from the Supreme Court.
