Dave Kane from the Office for Global Concerns sent us the following information. It seems like a wonderful opportunity for Maryknoll Affiliate Chapter in areas where she will be going. Dave has offered to help Affiliate Chapters get involved. You may contact This email address is being protected from spambots. This one woman show promises to be a VERY interesting one. It is by a woman who interned with us for a year and then created this piece with theater, music, dance, media, etc. about what faith has to tell us about our financial and ecological crises. Check out the video promo.
She is looking for venues around the country - see her schedule on the website - and I thought that a number of Affiliate groups would be interested in holding a showing in their areas. In addition to being a great show, it would be a great opportunity to get the word out about the Affiliates and find new members. I am sure that Tevyn would be willing to talk up the Affiliate groups, or allow you to.

The Affording Hope Project
The opening night for Leaps and Bounds, the show presented by the Affording Hope Project, is one month from today. Please check out the new promotional video for the show. This piece comes directly out of the work of Faith, Economy and Ecology (FEE), speaking to ecological overshoot, ecological debt, and a quality of life available should we trust in God's abundance and adopt the practices of Sabbath Economics. Kathy, Rita, and Marie Lucey are working on a reflection process that I will take around to communities, inviting them to read the FEE statement "A Call to Integrate Faith, Ecology, and the Global Economy". This show is an opportunity for FEE to develop a broader grassroots base.
Booking shows is a lengthy process, most church/parishes move very slowly in deciding to host a performance. Overtures need to be made sooner then later. While I hope to take this to many areas around the country, I am first focusing on reaching out to colleges and seminaries and communities in The Great Lakes region, Colorado, Montana, The Pacific Northwest, and California. You can help spread the word by sending a personal note to individuals/organizations in those areas with the letter below pasted into the email. Please cc affordinghopeproject@gmail, so that myself or my booking agent can follow up with that individual.
Thanks so much for your support. It is vital to the success of this endeavor.
Peace,
tevyn
Dear Friend in Faith:
The Affording Hope Project presents Leaps and Bounds, a one woman show which explores the intersection of faith, ecology, and the global economy. Using storytelling, song, movement, music, poetry and prayer, this work of theater sheds light on the driving factors of our environmental crisis while awakening the imagination to a new way of living with and relating to Earth. Grounded in theological reflection, this performance illuminates the quality of life available should we trust in God’s abundance and adopt the practices of Sabbath Economics.
Tevyn East, is producing and performing this work. Many gifted individuals, including Ched Myers and Carl Magruder, have contributed to make this a richly sensory and compelling production. To learn more about the collaborators, please visit the site.

The Affording Hope Project is being coordinated on a grass roots level and can thrive with the support of individuals and communities like you and yours. We want to work with every organization regardless of size or means. The show, Leaps and Bounds, is self-sufficient, traveling with its own set, lighting and sound equipment. Promotional material is available for download off the website to publicize the event. We have taken steps to make it easy for you to host this performance.
Please consider giving your community the chance to be energized by this imaginative and timely production. I would be happy to send more detailed information in the form of a newsletter, to assist your discernment and decision making process. And please, visit our website to learn more about booking a show. Also, to get a glimpse of the tone of this show, check out our preview video.
