About Us

Maryknoll Affiliate Logo

The Maryknoll Affiliates are connected to a wider movement that is popularly called “Maryknoll.” Maryknoll is comprised of three distinct entities: the Maryknoll  Fathers and Brothers (officially known as the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America), the Maryknoll Sisters of St. Dominic and the Maryknoll Lay Missioners...

Mission Statement

Maryknoll Affiliates, while continuing to pursue their own life's journey, commit themselves to the mission goals of Maryknoll in the context of Chapters that gather for prayer, reflection and action. Maryknoll Affiliates challenge one another to witness to mission as a way of life by going beyond borders, locally and globally, walking with the poor and excluded, and striving for peace and justice for all of God's creation.

Maryknoll Affiliates, as inividuals and in their "Mission Communities" try to live out the Four Pillars of the Maryknoll Affiliates: Spirituality, Global Vision, Community and Action.

NSFA Themes for 2012

We just received the list of the themes for Maryknoll magazine for next year. As we did with this year, we will follow those themes in Not So Far Afield.

The themes for next year will be:

January/February 2012: Option for the Poor - deadline 11/18/11

March/April 2012: Maryknoll Brotherhood - deadline 1/27/12

May/June 2012: Good Stewardship of God's Creation - deadline 3/16/12

July/August 2012: Refugees and Migration - deadline 5/18/12

September/October 2012: Mission in Partnership - deadline 7/20/12

November/December 2012: Mission in the United States - deadline 9/14/12

All of these themes are very relevant to the Maryknoll Affiliates. If you know anyone in your Chapter or any other Maryknoll Affiliate that you think would be able to write an article related to one of these themes, please encourage them to do so.

I have indicated the deadlines for Not So Far Afield. However, if we get articles earlier, or at least know of someone's interest, that article could be developed into a piece for the Maryknoll magazine. They have a much longer lead time - at least three month prior to an issue will be published.

Please see information on submitting an article here.
