Our centerpiece for this edition of Not So Far Afield is immigration. Our Mission Statement states: “Maryknoll Affiliates challenge one another to witness to mission as a way of life by going beyond borders, locally and globally…” No issue reflects this more than immigration. As our brothers and sisters around the world literally cross the borders of our nation states, we are called to bridge the borders of misunderstanding between peoples and cultures. The following articles represent just a few of the efforts of Maryknoll Affiliates to walk with those who have left their land for one that is unfamiliar and hostile but that may hold hope and opportunity.

Given this issue of Not So Far Afield is on immigrants and May is the month of Mother's Day, this is a wonderful video to watch.
