Spurred on by the Maryknoll Affiliate members in the high school, all of the religion teachers explained the concept of "A Million Minutes for Peace' to all of their classes on Sept 23. At noon on Sept. 24, the entire student body of more than 1000 teenagers, plus all of faculty and support staff stopped their classes to pray silently for world peace, then joined our prayers with those of the campus minister over the school PA system as we prayed St. Francis' prayer, "Make Me an Instrument of Peace."
The students loved the idea of their prayers joining with those of many different faiths and languages as our prayers circulated the globe!
