The Seattle Maryknoll Affiliates will be joining the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers in celebrating their centennial in the Seattle area.
Two key dates are: Centennial Mass is scheduled for Sunday, September 25 at Noon. It will be held at St. James Cathedral and followed by a reception. The other date is October 2. We will have a Mission symposium hosted by the Department of Theology and Ministry of Seattle University. The speaker will be Fr. Roger Schoeder, SVD, of CTU. He will make a presentation on 'Mission in the Global Context.'
We have an active Planning Committee. Among the members is Janet Quillian, an Affiliate and former Maryknoll Lay Missioner. We are a work in progress. Definitely the Affiliates here will be involved. The details of their involvement are still being developed. Among other things they will be involved with preparing for the reception, including putting up a booth on the Affiliates.
