Comunidad Misionera de Santa María, Wilmington
Welcome to the webpage for the Comunidad Misionera de Santa María Wilmington (Mission Community of Saint Mary's of Wilmington).
Welcome to the Father Price Chapter Webpage
December 1 is a perennial World AIDS Day where we lift up persons who have left the world. Each year we host this spiritually memorable event for clients and loved ones in the area. Some of our monthly activities include works of mercy such as delivering our “Companions Program” on Wednesdays where we deliver donated foods from local food banks, through the Food Pantry Coordinator from Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation of this type also provides opportunities to share prayer and emotional support for people who are shut in, have no transportation, and have very few visitors during the week.
This is our Apostolate at C.A.R.E. Personal visitation allows us to minister in all kinds of ways to people, and to advocate for them within various crises situations they often face, with Social Services, food, funeral arrangements, income problems, health care needs, and spiritual care. Through collaborative efforts, the Affiliates, through C.A.R.E., partner with many churches, and in addition to constant financial support from St. Mary's Catholic Church, is especially helped locally by the United Methodist Church, and gives its thanks.

The Washington, DC Maryknoll Affiliate Chapter is fortunate to be located in a center of activity for lobbying members of Congress, conferences, demonstrations and a host of similar opportunities to make our voice heard on key issue facing our country and world. Our proximity to the Maryknoll Office of Global Concerns also affords us the unique ability to hear directly from their staff working on a range of critical issues.
We would like to reach out to other Maryknoll Affiliate Chapters to provide information on resources available that can be used to study, reflect on and take action on a number of issues of importance to the faith community.
The initial concern that we have identified is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Resources include:
- websites of progressive/faith-based organizations who have worked on this issue
- books that examine the issue in detail
- contact information for the Executive branch and Congress that can be used to make your voice heard on this issue
Finally, we welcome your feedback and thoughts on this issue. Please feel free to let us know of any additional resources that may be useful to Affiliates and others interested in this issue.
