Self-Resourcing for Community Care

Karen Bortvedt Estrada –
Returned Maryknoll Lay Missioner

As we work to transform our worlds, we need to care for ourselves when so many forces would prefer we be dysregulated, unwell, overwhelmed, reactive, or shut down. Since January, I have been offering Centering Sunday, a free weekly virtual gathering at 9am PT/12pm ET.  In community, we practice a little mindfulness, centering, or Somatic Stress Release™, so we can all keep showing
up for the work that needs to be done as our most grounded, resourced selves.

Each week, participants learn and practice a different tool that helps build awareness of our own intuition and allows us to slow down long enough to hear the still, small voice inside. We learn ways to constructively be with and move through emotions that may be there, instead of just trying to make them go away until they resurge at 3:30am. The space is open to all, and a recording is sent each week for those who cannot join live. You can register at mindfulnessmoments.info.
